Caprese Salad with Fresh Mozzarella
Fresh summer salad with ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and quality olive oil. Simple, classic Italian preparation.

Ingredients
- 4 tomatoes (1 lb) beefsteak tomatoes ripe
- 1 lb fresh mozzarella ball
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 4 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar aged
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 clove garlic minced
Instructions
- Slice ripe beefsteak tomatoes into thin rounds about 0.5 inch thick. Slice fresh mozzarella into similar thickness.
- Arrange tomato and mozzarella slices on a serving platter, alternating and slightly overlapping them.
- Scatter fresh basil leaves over the top.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Drizzle dressing evenly over the salad just before serving.
- Let sit 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve at room temperature.
