Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 lb sliced deli turkey
- 12 slices thick-cut bacon
- 12 slices white or sourdough bread
- 4 leaves iceberg lettuce
- 2 medium ripe tomato
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 avocado
- 4 Swiss cheese slices
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat, flipping occasionally, until crispy (about 8-10 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
- Toast all 12 slices of bread until golden. Mix the mayonnaise with Dijon mustard for a quick spread.
- Slice the tomato into thin rounds. Slice the avocado. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves.
- Build the first layer: spread mayo-mustard on a slice of toast, add turkey, cheese, and a few slices of avocado. Top with second toast.
- Build the second layer: spread mayo on the second toast, add bacon (3 slices per sandwich), lettuce, and tomato. Season the tomato lightly with salt and pepper. Top with the third toast.
- Secure each sandwich with toothpicks at the quarters. Cut diagonally into triangles and serve with chips, pickles, or a cup of soup.
